Faber Residency (from Latin faber, ‘artisan, worker, forger…’) is a residency of arts, sciences and humanities located in the city of Olot (Garrotxa), Catalonia (Spain), inaugurated in September 2016.
At Faber we want to rethink the diversity of gender, sex, identity and how they are combined with differences of origin, culture, religion, social class or age. What are the new social policies that we have to establish? How should we approach an inclusive and transformative education? What role does the administration have and what role do we citizens have? How do power differences work when it comes to establishing a field of equity among QLGBTI people? What new personal and collective discourses should we take into account to overcome QLGBTIphobia? How do we think about concepts such as freedom, rights, family or progress?
That is why we call researchers from any discipline related to these fields of interest (sociology, political science, philosophy, biology, psychology, economics, work and social education, etc.): activists, artists, writers, journalists and all those people who have a project related to the field we propose. We would like to debate, together, the challenges our societies, institutions and cultures are facing.
