Viaje al cuarto de una madre by Celia Rico, screening at Harvard

Cinema.  Harvard University, 01/11/2019

Leonor wants to leave home but she doesn’t dare tell her mother. Estrella doesn’t want her daughter to go, but she isn’t able to keep her by her side. Mother and daughter will have to face a new time in their lives in which the world they share is wavering. Journey to a Mother’s Room is a film about the ties that tightly bind a mother and a daughter, so intimate and delicate they can easily tangle and trap them.

Celia Rico Clavellino began her career as a screenwriter and director in 2012 with the multiple prize-winning short film LUISA NO ESTÁ EN CASA, selected for film festivals including Venice, Seminci, Malaga or Gijon. She similarly participated in the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival, won the Gaudi Award for Best Short Film and the Col·legi de Directors de Catalunya Award. She also worked as an assistant to the director Claudia Llosa and ran the second unit on her film NO LLORES, VUELA (2014). JOURNEY TO A MOTHER'S ROOM is her first feature.
