Cora Novoa among the 10 selected creatives of Sonar+D and Factory Berlin Artist In Residence program

Arts.  BERLIN, 01/10/2020

Ten multidisciplinary artists, designers and creative studios will convene in Berlin this Autumn, for the second annual Sónar+D Artist in Residence program in partnership with Factory Berlin and supported by Beats by Dr. Dre and Institut Ramon Llull. Following an open call that saw over applications from over 200 projects from 25 different countries, over the next three months these creatives will be tasked with creating work focused on technology and society, that inspires shifts in perspective and cross-collaboration, with a selection of their finished work to be shown at Sónar+D 2021.

Reflecting our current digital and trans-disciplinary reality, the selected artists work in a range of fields and mediums. These include: Advanced music with Barcelona’s Cora Novoa, Tijuana’s Moises Horta Valenzuela, Sebastian Lee Phillipp aka Die Wilde Jagd or the Seattle artist Tony Cruise aka Tony Kill; performance and installation art with a collaboration between Studio Above&Below and Einar Fehrholz or the LA based performance art duo Dejha Ti & Ania Catherine; AR, digital art and image manipulation with Aaron Jablonski and Harriet Davey; graphic design and typography represented by Lucas Garvey, and collaborative and community based training as exemplified by the 12 strong Berlin collective ‘No Shade’

Starting now and for 3 months, the selected artists, designers and creative studios will benefit from atelier space in Factory Berlin and advice and mentorship from an elite panel of 20 industry experts from companies and institutions including Twitch, Change.org, Patreon, S+T+ARTS, shesaid.so, The Fader, Electronic Beats, MHP, New Inc, Gropius Bau and the Berlin Club Commission

Over the coming weeks, Sónar+D will be revealing more details about the artists and their specific projects as they progress in their residencies at Factory Berlin. Stay tuned to their socials for updates.
