Institut Ramon Llull starts a specific programme to support literary translators from Catalan and Occitan (in its Aranese variant) to other languages. The goal of the programme is to foster authors from the Catalan and Aranese literature heritage, as well as to boost the professional career of translators by strengthening their role as advertisers among the international publishing sector.

The programme hires translating services to any language and generates promotional material on authors and their work in order to internationalise them. All materials will be created in accordance with the assessment criteria and the strategic lines of the Institute.

The fundamental goal of the programme is to bolster the job of literary translators from Catalan and Occitan (in its Aranese variant) as international advertisers among the publishing sector, but also to stimulate new literary translators and fostering their professional development. This way the programme will contribute to the international promotion of the literary heritage in Catalan and Occitan language.

Applications must be submitted from February 22nd to April 15th 2021 (final shortlist will be communicated to candidates from May 3rd 2021).
