Conference on new technological challenges and artificial intelligence in the field of contemporary opera production

Music.  BARCELONA, 05/10/2021

What implications will the next technological changes have for opera and music creators and music publishers? How can composers take creative advantage of recent advances in artificial intelligence? What is it like to use AI without diminishing intuition and creative freedom? Can new technologies create robotic performers? How is a new interaction between online platforms and face-to-face events formulated?

Opera composition has never turned its back on new tools or groundbreaking formats born of the emergence of new technologies. These are advances in fields as diverse as electronics applied to the creation and editing of new music or artificial intelligence and the possibilities it offers, which suddenly allow a new perspective on what it means to compose for the lyrical scene today.

The creators participating in the conference will share with the audience attending the event ―either in person or online― their first-person experiences and how they apply technological advances to their creative work. The guest scientists will be able to tell us about the latest developments that will surprise us in the future of AI in the field of opera.
